Seed of Heaven

The Maya term Neek Kaan (nec can) means seed of heaven, referring to the sun as it falls from the sky every afternoon, embedding itself in the horizon to germinate overnight and burst into flower in the morning as a new day. The architectural design is the work of multi-award winning Yucatecan architect Javier Muñoz Menéndez, Neek Kaan is built on a broad expanse of coastal dune, site of a large number of endemic species in danger of extinction. In order to preserve the natural environment, these plants were carefully rescued and relocated from their original location to the green areas of the complex. In fact 50% of the area is destined for use as green areas with plants native to the region. Besides having a hydro pneumatic supply of drinking water, guaranteeing the supply of drinking water with good water pressure in all apartments, Neek Kaan also provides further services in its common areas, such as security service 24 hours a day, maintenance and gardening services, computer with Internet access in the offices, barbeque area.
